Sheila Anne Webb

Dr. Sheila Anne Webb passed away of natural causes on 31 May 2024 at her home in Jacksonville, AL. Sheila was known and loved by many. She lived a full life and had a relentless passion for family, her career, travel and any and all animals. She strived to make the world a better place every day. She was known as "Pee Wee" by her elder Sisters and Mother, and also as the family's Fairy God mother by her many nephews and niece. She was 78. She is survived by her nephews Peter and Szara Loring (MN), Jamie and Renee Dannels (VA), Mark and Nickie Dannels (AZ), Tim and Sarah Dannels (IA) and Niece Amy and Mark Phillips (NV).
She was proceeded in death by her daughter Molly, Mother Grace Jeanette Landguth Webb, Father Cowan Willian Webb, her Stepfather Richard E Pike, her Sisters Sandra Jean Webb and Barbra Ellen Webb, and her Ex-husband Jeff Hlubek. Originally born and raised in Clinton Iowa she lived a very interesting and devoted life of travel and educating others. Living in Iowa City Iowa, Eureka CA, and Jacksonville AL. She also spent time overseas in Indonesia setting up advance educational studies. Degrees include BA, MA, and PHD at the University of Iowa, and a MA in Divinity. Sheila devoted 27 years at Jacksonville State University; 16 years as Dean of the College of Education and Professional Studies and 11 years as Professor of Secondary Education. She was an active member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and local Garden Club. She is well known for her love and rescue of animals.
Memorial services will be held at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Saturday 29 June 2024 at 11:00 AM, with reception to follow. She loved flowers but would like a donation to the Humane Society even better due to her love of animals. Burial services to be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery, Clinton Iowa, 3 August 2024, at 10:00 AM, with reception to follow.
