Shelby “Jean” Garrett, 80, passed away peacefully March, 13, 2025 at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, Tennessee.

She was born in Centre, Alabama to the late Hubert “Hub” and Onie Peek Williams. Preceded in death by her siblings; Lee Williams, Hugh Don Williams, Johnny Williams, Ronald Williams, Sandra Williams, and Patsy Teems.

Jean was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church, Louisville, Tennessee, where she loved serving in the nursery. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family as well as tending to her rose garden.

She is survived by her son Charles “Chuck” Garrett and wife Sheila, of Louisville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Josh Newman, Leslee Qualls, and Tyrus “Ty” Garrett, honorary grandchildren; Julian Rodriguez-Lopez and Kaytie Floyd, seven great- grandchildren and one great- great-grandson; one sister, Jo Ann Clements, and best friend Jan Kincaid.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm - 2:00pm, Sunday, March, 23, 2025, funeral services to follow at Beech Grove Baptist Church, Louisville, Tennessee with Pastor Matt Dixon officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jean Garrett to the children’s ministry at Beech Grove Baptist Church, 1519 Topside Road, Louisville, Tennessee, 37777.
