Shelby (Buddy) Ray May, age 86, of Searcy, Arkansas passed away in his home on July 10, 2024. He was born April 27, 1938, in Quitman, Arkansas, to Dallas and Gladys May. He was a talented painter and loved spending time with his family.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rose May; his son, Eric May; and many siblings.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Ray May and Melvyn May; grandson Cyris May; and his beloved pet, Charlie. Also surviving are his two brothers, Lonnie May and Danny May; and five sisters, Ethel Duncan, Jean Buteau, Patricia Wyatt, Patsy May, and Wanda Kilburn; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Fairbanks Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home.
