Sheldon Clemons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Twin Chapels Mortuary on Feb. 17, 2026.
Sheldon Floyd Clemons, 58, passed away on February 9, 2026, at his home in Martinez, California.

Born on December 6, 1967, in Vallejo, California, and raised in Martinez, Sheldon lived a life full of love, humor, and hard work.

After attending Alhambra High School, Sheldon went on to build a successful career as a plumber, dedicating over 30 years to his trade. He was known for his tireless work ethic and unwavering commitment to providing for his family.

Sheldon was a man who never met a stranger that he didn't consider a friend. His generous spirit and magnetic personality earned him countless friends throughout his life. Whether offering the shirt off his back or sharing one of his legendary stories, he had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Sheldon" by many-family or not. He was truly the life of the party and where ever he went, his twin brother Brandon was never far behind.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, dirt bike riding, camping, or enjoying Wednesday nights at the gun club with his nephew Troy Clemons. He found peace and comfort while spending time at the Martinez Marina. Country music played a constant soundtrack to his life; he loved playing the harmonica and dancing with flair. He truly believed his vocals could earn him a spot in the Country Music Hall of Fame. A cold Coors Light in hand and a smile on his face were trademarks of his joyful presence.

Above all else, Sheldon cherished his role as a father. He is survived by his beloved children, Shelby (Patrick) Dhuyvetter and Tyler (Leigha) Clemons. His love for them was profound and unwavering. He was also looking forward to becoming a grandpa, a new chapter he anticipated with great joy.

Sheldon's memory lives on through his mother, Margret Silva; sister, Daniela Clemons; twin brother, Brandon Clemons; brother, Nathan (Amber) Clemons; half siblings, Cynthia Clemons, Karen Clemons -Jones and David Clemons-Jones; and stepbrothers, Kenny Silva and Greg (Michele) Silva. His memory also lives through numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, who adored their Uncle Sheldon.

He is joined in rest with his grandparents, Charlie and Celia Martinez; father, Harvey Clemons; stepfather, Mervin Silva; half brother, Ron Clemons-Jones; and stepbrother, Steve Silva.

His legacy of kindness, laughter, and loyalty will continue to inspire all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and joy to those who remember him with a smile.

A Celebration of Life event will be held at 1:00 PM on February 23, 2026 at Northgate Church, 2201 Lake Herman Rd, Benicia, Ca 94510.

He will be laid to rest with Mervin at the Benicia City Cemetery.

I am sorry to hear about Sheldon's passing. I remember we met as kids in school and found out we did not live very far from each other. We became freinds though out school but lost touch after that. He was a great guy and we had a lot of fun spending a lot of time at Golden Hills Park in Virginia hills.

Sheldon was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. He always had a smile on his face and willing to help a friend. We started out as neighbors, but he quickly became a friend to me and my family. I am so sad that he is gone. It's hard to look at his name and number in my phone...wishing I had one more chance to call him and see him. He will be incredibly missed, and I am truly sorry for his children and family. He loved his children so much. Sending my love and prayers to them.
