Sheldon Heck, age 82, of Neillsville, WI, died Thursday, May 29, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Sheldon Eli Heck was born at home on April 20, 1943, in Greenwood, WI, the son of Floyd E. and Harriet M. (Feirn) Heck. He attended Mound Grade School in Christie, WI, and graduated from Neillsville High School in 1962. He then farmed with his father on the family farm for 70 years, along with helping his son, Tim on his beef farm. In addition to farming, Sheldon and his father also did a lot of logging. They bought their own portable sawmill, planer and edger, and sawed lumber for many people in the area. Sheldon also served in the United States Army - National Guard from April 24, 1961 to April 4, 1970. On August 12, 1967, he was united in marriage to Marie Ellen Alexander at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Unity, WI. They had met at a roller-skating rink in Loyal, WI, where Sheldon would often go, along with the roller-rink in Hatfield, with his cousins.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, two children, Tammy (Tim) Hagen of Neillsville and Tim (Stacie) Heck of Neillsville, four grandchildren, Collin (Morgan) Brunner, Desi Heck, Brandon Heck, and Amy (David) Peters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Harriet Heck, a sister, Judy Bloch, niece, Heather Bloch and a great nephew, Dylan Bloch.
Funeral Services for Sheldon will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at the Pine Valley - Zion Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Bob Garbisch and Pastor Douglas Bjerke will co-officiate. Interment will be in the North Pine Valley Cemetery on South Mound Road in Neillsville, with military honors provided by the Neillsville Veteran's Council. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, and from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the church.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Carl Geischen, Terry Sischo and Greg Herrick.
Pallbearers are: Collin Brunner, Brandon Heck, Desi Heck, Amy Peters, David Peters and Benny Heck.
