Shelly Cory-Shivvers, 51, of Dallas Center, IA, passed away at her home on Monday, May 19, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Shelly was born on September 6, 1973, at Dallas County Hospital in Perry, IA, the daughter of Richard Lee and Delores Ann (York) Mash. She was raised in Dallas Center, where she graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes High School, and later attended Graceland College and later Hamilton Business College.
After college, Shelly returned to Dallas Center to raise her three sons-Connor, and twins Jacob and Dylan. She owned and operated a flower shop in town before becoming the Director of the Roy R. Estle Memorial Library, a position she held until her retirement in August 2024. During her time there, she was instrumental in leading many positive changes including funding for improvements to the library.
On November 10, 2017, Shelly was united in marriage to Graig Shivvers at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.
Shelly had a love for flowers, outdoor activities, and cherished time spent with her granddaughter Camilla Mae, lovingly known as "Cammy Bug."
She is survived by her husband, Graig; her sons, Connor, Jacob (Hailey), and Dylan; granddaughter Camilla Mae; her father, Richard (Claudia) Mash; her mother, Delores Mash; brother Tom Mash, and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Dallas Center. A Memorial Service will follow on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., also at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
