Shelly R. Russell, age 50, of Waynesville, departed this world peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Born in Dayton on August 8, 1975, she was the daughter of Joseph C. Madden and Deborah Saunders Butts (Steven R. Butts, step father) of Wilmington.
Shelly was a Clinton Massie graduate and went on to receive an associate degree in Medical Assisting. She was a Surgical Assistant at South Dayton Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
Shelly attended Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington and loved her church family and ladies group. She enjoyed shopping but was the happiest as a 'sports mom'. A big part of the Clinton Massie Community, Shelly was often involved in supporting various sports and helping with meals. She was passionate about her boys and loved watching them play sports, especially football.
Shelly is survived by her devoted husband, William 'Bill' E. Russell, VIII; along with sons: Dr. Colin Louderback of Philadelphia, William 'Lex' E. Russell, IX of Clarksville, Brady Gator Russell and Braxton Carter Russell, both of Waynesville. In addition to her parents, also left to cherish Shelly's memory are grandchildren: William 'Gunner' E. Russell, X and Kohen W. Russell; brother, Jeremy (Peggy) Madden of Wilmington; grandmother, Carolean Hammersley of Dayton; mother and father in-law, Sharlene and Carl Fields, Sr.; sister in-law, Rosalyn (Lee) Russell-Everitt of Clarksville; brother in-law. Carl Fields, Jr. of Clarksville; nieces and nephews: Rhianna Madden, Emma Everitt, Andrew Madden and Isiah Fields; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends.
Shelly was preceded in death by her father , Joseph C. Madden and father in-law, William 'Eddie' E. Russell, VII.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. The Russell family is especially grateful for their help during their time of need.
Friends may call at Bible Baptist Church of Wilmington on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 12pm until 2pm when a funeral service will begin. Burial will follow at Clarksville Cemetery. Littleton Funeral Home, Sabina, has been entrusted with arrangements.
