Sherard "Earl" Edward Primo, Age 86, peacefully entered heaven where he is now dancing with "Mimi" Carol (Farizo) Primo, his wife of 53 years, on Thursday, October 9, 2025. He was born on June 17, 1939.
He is the loving father of Dr. Earl "Tiger' Primo (Rebecca) and Lori "My Lou" (Primo) Reid (Michael). A very proud grandfather of 4 Grandchildren: Codey B. Eiswirth, Zachary J. Primo, Cullen M. Reid and Caiden J. Reid. He is the son of the late Sherard J. Primo and Rita Louise (Braun) Primo. Beloved brother- in- law of Joseph "Buck" Farizo, Shirley Farizo Giroir, Richard "Ricky" Farizo (Paula) and Brian Heiden (Arleen). "Uncle Earl" will be lovingly remembered by the many nieces and nephews whose lives he deeply touched.
He is preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Janet Farizo and Patricia Farizo Heiden and his Brother-in-law, Ronald "Ronnie" Girior, Sr.
Earl was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and then became a longtime resident of Marrero, Louisiana, and later of Covington, Louisiana. He served as a proud and dedicated member of the United States Coast Guard for over 30 years. Earl was a man of may skills and used them wherever and whenever he was needed. He was always there to lend a helping hand. No job was ever too big or too small. He even continued the tradition of Carol's Famous peanut butter pies. Earl was always described by friends and family as a kind, caring, selfless, and loving man. He had a laugh that could fill a room and a spirit that was as boundless as his love for his family. Those who knew him would also describe him as a person with a great sense of humor. Most know about the traditional "TIP" jar he would place on his and Carol's kitchen table for any gathering. In keeping with Grandpa's tradition of giving, we ask in lieu of flowers, to please "tip" St. Judes Children Research Hospital in his and Carol's memory, a cause close to their hearts.
Earl leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and a deep sense of family that will continue to guide us. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we take comfort in knowing that his love will forever be part of us. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will be cherished and celebrated always.
Earl, in his signature style, requested that everyone attending the service wear dungarees and tennis shoes, reflecting his love for comfort, simplicity, and staying true to himself. He believed life was best lived with a relaxed spirit and a good pair of shoes (with duct tape). This final request is a reminder of his easy-going nature and appreciation for the everyday moments. We invite all who knew him to honor his memory by following this simple, heartfelt request as we celebrate his life.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the graveside service on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 10:00 am at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 2280 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until service time in the Eternal Chapel of Pinecrest Mausoleum.

Uncle Earl was truly a Saint! He was a devoted husband and father, a doting grandfather and a best friend to everyone he knew. Words cannot express how much he meant to me. As my eyes well up writing this I can picture him so vividly in his faded blue jeans, t-shirt, Nike tennis shoes and his signature flannel shirt draped over his shoulders like a jacket. I actually have the exact outfit thanks to him. Uncle Earl was a father figure and mentor to me, and I am forever grateful for his love and kindness. Whenever we worked on a project, he always brought me a sandwich and chips for lunch. Aunt Carol made the best sandwiches! One day I was working on a project with Uncle Earl and Buck when I received a call that a property I owned had a kitchen fire and some severe smoke damage. I was pretty upset about the incident and really didn't have time to deal with it. Uncle Earl could hear me on the phone but never said a word. Later that afternoon I told the Dynamic Duo Earl and Buck that I wouldn't be available to work the following day due to the kitchen fire at the property. Uncle Earl said no problem we will take off tomorrow. The next day I arrived at the property bright and early only to find Uncle Earl sitting in his white truck paint roller in hand, with a loving grin from ear to ear, he said "come on Zorro lets knock this out and I will buy you a malt at Mc Donalds when we finish" he called the shakes, malts. Uncle Earl turned disasters into magical moments that is who he was. The absolute finest human being I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I am so grateful for the time that I had with him and everything he taught me. He will be missed by all that have had the pleasure of knowing him. I love you Uncle Earl! August aka "Zorro"

Earl was the best neighbor anyone could ever have. I love teasing him about putting tape on his shoes to make them last longer. When I look out my front window and see his house, tears come to my eyes. He would do little jobs for me, he would always say this is guaranteed.
