Edwin Earl Core

Edwin Earl Core passed peacefully from this life on November 4, 2025. Ed was born June 27, 1939. He was 86 years old. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marianne Laborde Core, his children, Tara Baudean (Paul), Noelle Huval (Chris), and Travis Core (Vicki), 13 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and CoraLee Core, his son Christian "Kit" Core (Tara Lott), his brother Barney Core, and sisters Norma Jean Coleman (Warren), Marilyn Joiner (Ray), and Mary Catherine Howell (Glen).
Ed was a quiet leader, captain of the Covington High football team in 1957, a Sergeant 1st class in the Army National Guard, president of the Folsom PTO, and little league football coach for many years. He was the manager of Money Hill Hunting Club, where he was an avid deer and turkey hunter, and the owner of One Hour Martinizing and Core Cleaners.
Ed loved his family. He was most happy at family gatherings watching and interacting with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially loved babies and could always be found "talking to" and playing with the newest baby in the family.
He is known by all as a good, honorable man. He lived his life as a role model to many with his quiet commitment to honesty and honorable actions. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana, with interment to follow in Core Cemetery on Core Cemetery Road in Folsom, Louisiana.
