Sheree Oglesby (66), formerly of Tahoka, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday morning, April 16, 2024. Sheree was born on August 18, 1957, in Vernon, Wilbarger County, Texas, to the late Reverend Frank B. Oglesby, Jr. and Golia Faye (Owen) Oglesby.
Sheree attended Tahoka schools, graduating from Tahoka High School in 1975. She obtained her LVN certification in 1976 and worked in the Lubbock area for many years. Sherre attended South Plains College, receiving her Associates Degree in Nursing in 1990, and worked in the home health field until retiring in 2020.
Sheree's zest for life shined through in her interests and passions. From enjoying the simple pleasure of watching TV to the excitement of traveling, golf, bowling, and playing slot machines. In recent years, she also enjoyed online shopping which included many meals with her special love for pizza, hamburgers, and chicken fried steak. She embraced every moment with enthusiasm. Her love for her family, friends, and her dogs reflects her compassionate and loving nature. She will be remembered fondly for her contagious laughter and the joy she brought to those around her. Sheree was a member of Forrest Heights United Methodist Church.
Those left to honor and cherish Sheree’s memory include her sister, Sandy Oglesby Ball of Lubbock; her brother, Terry Oglesby of Keller; her life-long friends of 50 years, Cindy and Trent Leverett of Lubbock. She also leaves behind four nieces and nephews: Steffanie Dayton, Steven Myers, Robynn (Matt) Watson, Stevie (David) Deeds; four great nieces and nephews: Zachary Dayton, Adam Dayton, Jade Deeds and James Deeds; and a very special friend and caregiver, Chay Almazar. She was preceded in death by her parents and a beloved friend, Southern Wells Bush.
Celebration of Life Memorial Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024, in the Combest Family Memorial Chapel in Lubbock. Visitation will be at the memorial service. Services are under the personal care and direction of Combest Family Funeral Homes and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to Lubbock Meals on Wheels, which provided assistance to Sheree for many years.
