Sheri Lynn McConnell, 64, of Zanesville, passed away at 2:04 A.M on Monday, April 28, at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on March 10, 1961, in Lancaster, the daughter of Mildred Schneider and the late John Gregory. Sheri worked as a crew member at Taco Bell where she made a new family and was referred to as everyone’s grandma. She treated everyone with kindness and never met a stranger. Sheri was devoted and loving to all her family and friends.
Sheri was an avid animal lover who loved her furbabies and treated them as her children, but her favorite animal of all were horses. Sheri loved traveling to new places, being outdoors, and taking spontaneous road trips with her husband on their motorcycle. She also loved to go to the Legion and enjoyed time with family and friends. One of Sheri’s most memorable traits was her signature red lipstick, she never went anywhere without it.
As well as her mother she is survived by her husband of twenty years, Rick McConnell, whom she married April 9, 2005; five children, Taylor (Chris) Pitcock, Brandon (Ryan) Pitcock, Chaz (Lilly) McConnell, Brady (Kristi) McConnell, and Braiden (Johnalee) McConnell; six grandchildren, Gracelynn, Carson, Keaton, Koralynn, Trinity, and Harper; one sister, Judy (Chris) Johnson; nieces, Jessica Johnson and Andrea (Jeff) Gamache; nephew Alex Johnson; great-niece, Charlie and great nephew Chandler.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Gregory, Stepmother Margaret Gregory, and her Stepfather Charlie Schneider.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of service starting at 12:00 NOON on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Nathan Hill officiating. She will be cremated and be laid to rest at the New Lexington Cemetery later with family.
