Sherie Ann Hinderman, a vibrant and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 68.
Sherie was born on July 19, 1957, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Helen Irene and Cecil "Woody" Wernal Briggs Woodward.
Sherie's life was a shining example of selflessness, strength, and unwavering love for others. She was a two-time cancer survivor, a fighter in every sense of the word, and a source of endless inspiration to all who knew her. She would do anything to make someone laugh.
Sherie was a woman full of life-kind, caring, and deeply rooted in her Christian faith. She was known for her outgoing nature, warm heart, and the ability to make anyone feel welcome. Her life was a testament to generosity and compassion, and she touched countless hearts through her words, her smile, and her actions.
Sherie found joy in the simple and the profound-from the thrill of motorcycle rides through the rolling hills of the Wisconsin countryside (especially on "chicken runs"), to quiet afternoons in her home with her beloved pets, Eclipse, Jackpot, Dani, and Ms. Kitty. Her love for the outdoors and camping was matched only by her devotion to her family, particularly her grandchildren, who she visited often and shared her love of painting, crafts, and coloring.
A Godly woman rooted deeply in her Christian faith, Sherie loved reading the Bible and sharing the Gospel with anyone and everyone she met. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, she was a long time member of Racine Community Church of the Nazarene in Wisconsin and actively participated in Bible Study Fellowship. During her time in Las Vegas, she attended Grace Point Church. She lived out her Christian faith everyday with joy and authenticity.
Sherie also enjoyed her favorite TV shows-Forensic Files, NCIS, Law and Order Special Victims Unit, Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, and Svengoolie Tonight-often watching them with a smile, a caffeine-free Diet Pepsi, and with an infectious laugh that brightened any room. She enjoyed playing Rummy 500 with anyone that knew how and wanted to play, and playing the card game Trash with her family. She also loved playing on slot machines in the casinos of Iowa, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
Sherie was preceded in death by her beloved soulmate Daniel Edward Hinderman, her parents Helen Irene and Cecil "Woody" Wernal Briggs Woodward, her older brother Cecil Woodward, and her brother-in-law John Kastner Sr.
Sherie is survived by her devoted children-Rachel (Jason) Treutelaar, Ronald (Tracie) Jefcik Jr., Ryan (Kristin) Jefcik, Renee (Jared) Schroeder, Carrie (Jason) Kelly, and Kristy (Chris) Maston.
She was a proud and loving grandmother to Reece, Hannah, Landon, Jillian, Oliver, Claire, Emma, Jesse, Vivian, Jenna, Tristan, Lucas, Avery, and Amelia.
She also leaves behind her cherished siblings-Tom Woodward Sr., Pamela Kastner, Cara Ritchie, and Jackie Woodward, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Sherie's legacy is one of love, strength, and joy. She will be remembered as a close follower of Jesus Christ, the best mother, grandmother, and friend anyone could ask for-a true light in the lives of all who knew her.
A celebration of Sherie's life will be held on November 8th at 11 AM at the Platteville VFW in Wisconsin, where family and friends will gather in her memory. Additional details to follow. A benefit will be established in honor of Sherie's life in lieu of flowers.
