Sherlene Robertson, age 70, of Mustang, passed away on September 19, 2025. She was born in Oklahoma City on March 28, 1955, to Allen Wayne and Alice Coral (Reed) Gipson. She graduated from Mustang High School in 1973. On September 27, 1974, she married the love of her life, Gene Robertson. They enjoyed 51 wonderful years together.

Sherlene worked for the Hobby Lobby Corporation for over thirty years in the Accounts Payable Department.

Sherlene was a remarkable woman and a phenomenal wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a fierce protector of her loved ones. Her grandkids all knew that she loved them dearly, and they brought her so much joy. Sherlene also took great pride in her appearance, never going out with a single hair out of place. She was a giver: she loved to give hugs, give gifts, and give her time.

Over the last nineteen years, Sherlene has battled cancer on three separate occasions. She fought with strength and dignity, never allowing the cancer to steal her joy and her laughter. Even at the end, she was cracking jokes and lighting up her hospital room.

Sherlene is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ray.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gene; her daughter Regena Sanders, husband Scott, and grandchildren Katelyn Purdon and husband Colton, and Kade, Kaleb, and Kellan Sanders. She is also survived by her daughter Renee Pruett, husband Chad, and grandchildren Alanna and Audrianna Pruett; brother Garland Gipson and wife Cindy; sister Christi Rose and husband Clark; as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, September 25th, at 2pm at McNeil's Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Mustang Cemetery.

I only got to work with Sherlene for a short time, but my desk was next to hers. Not a day went by that she didn't say hi and ask how I was doing and tell me about her family. I'm deeply sorry for your loss. She is already missed so much. I'll be praying for all of you.
