Sherman R. Morlen, 104, of Liberal, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 at the Wheatridge Park Care Center.
He was born on January 16, 1921 to Elvis and Dora (Gorforth) Morlen at Ellsinore, MO.
He married Dorothy M. Robertson - Peebles on October 19, 1940 in Springfield, MO. She preceded him on July 6, 2001. They resided in several places before making their home in Liberal, KS in 1961.
He worked for Clingan Tires for several years.
Sherman owned and operated several tire businesses in Liberal, KS.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of Liberal, KS.
Sherman is survived by Three Sons; Mike Morlen and wife Pat of Liberal, KS; Sam Morlen of Longview, TX; Jim Morlen of Garden City, KS; Daughter, Catherine McGehee of Liberal, KS; 15 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren; numerous Nieces and Nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his Parents, Three Daughters; Sharon K. Morlen, Donna VanBuren and Shirley Harbour; Six Brothers; Three Sisters; Three Grandsons; Matthew Hartley, Nicholas Morlen, Christopher Morlen: Granddaughter; Penny VanBuren, Great-Grandson; Charles Dunbar, Son-in-law; Jim Harbour, Daughter-in-law; Cathy Morlen.
Viewing will be 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday April 21, 2025 at Miller Mortuary, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Tuesday April 22, 2025 at the First Christian Church with Jack Cooley, officiating.
Burial will take place in the Liberal City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the Liberal Senior Center.
