Sherman A. Oliver, 81 of Eldorado, Ohio died Friday, September 12, 2025, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy, Ohio. Born June 30, 1944, in Richmond, Indiana he was the son of the late Edgar J. & Wanda P. (Myers) Oliver. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1962 and was employed for 38 years at Flow Serve in Dayton, Ohio. In 1987 he graduated from the Dayton Police Academy and served in the Farmersville Police Department for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren receiving pictures from his granddaughter Hailey, playing catch with his grandson Lucas, attending car shows with his son Kerry, attending auctions with daughter Jodie and exploring garage sales with his son Monty.
Preceded in death by Sisters: Linda M. Sheppard in 2016 and Wanda B. Smith in 1998; Brothers: James E. Oliver in 1946, Charles E. Oliver in 1992 and Larry Keith Oliver in 2020; Granddaughter: Kelsey Danielle Smith died in 2022.
Survivors: Wife: Sheryl (Knick) Oliver of 37 years; Children: Annette (David) Ulrich of West Alexandria, OH; Kerry (Lisa) Oliver of Richmond, IN, Monty Oliver of Greenville, OH; Jodie Oliver of Cincinnati, OH. Angela Suarez of Union City, IN; Scott Suarez of Union City, IN; Christina McCollum of Knoxville, TN; Brothers: David Oliver of Eaton, Ohio; Paul “Mike” Oliver of West Alexandria, OH; Jerry (Becky) Brookshire of Eaton, OH: Sister: Sylvia Peggy (Scott) Davis of Richmond, IN; Grandchildren: Kegan Smith, Hailey Ulrich, Lucas Ulrich, Jacob Oliver and Zach Suarez. 5 Great Grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 19, 2025, at Barnes Funeral Home, 220 East Main St., Eaton, OH. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM with Pastor Justin Wiegand officiating.
