Sherman Lee Thompson

1938 - 2025

Sherman Lee Thompson, age 87, of Hilliard, Florida, passed away peacefully Dec. 31, 2025.
He was born April 9, 1938. Sherman proudly served in the United States Air Force for years and was honorably discharged in 1961. After his time in the service, he worked for the Nassau County Road Department for many years. Sherman then started his retirement and loved every minute of it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lettie Thompson; loving wife of many years, Mildred Thompson; brothers, Lamar Thompson, Dewitt Thompson, JR Thompson, and Robert Thompson; and sisters, Lois (Jack) Roberson, Alice (Lemon) Crawford, Jewell Rowe, and Millie Sikes.
Sherman is survived by many nephews and nieces. He had three special nieces who were his constant companions and devoted to his every need and well-being, Susan Esposito, Laura Thompson, and Gail Thompson Meeks. Sherman also had a great-great-nephew, Cayden DuBose, who he spent many, many hours playing with and they had a very loving and close relationship.
Uncle Sherman, you will be greatly missed by all of us. Until we meet again, we love you!

A graveside service for Sherman was held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, at 11 a.m. in Boones Creek Cemetery in St. George, GA. The family received friends Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, from 5-7 p.m. at Nassau Funeral Home.
