Sherol Rosbaugh Obituary

ROMULUS - Sherol was born in Romulus, N.Y. on March 23, 1940, to her parents Albert and Marian Cooper. She was predeceased by her brother Leon Cooper and sister Iona Westervelt. She graduated from Interlaken Central School where she met her soulmate and love of her life, Tracy Rosbaugh. The young couple worked Tracy's way through Cornell University and raised a family of four-Deborah Delaney, Kimberly Shimmel, Robert Rosbaugh and Larue Scott Rosbaugh. Sadly, Kim and Scott were both victims of cancer, but their children have helped fill their void and we are sure that Sherol is with them again.

Over the 67 years of their lives together, Sherol and Tracy welcomed 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren to the family. They were fortunate enough to have acquired properties in two great vacation locations near Orlando Fl and the Finger Lakes of N.Y., that ensured lots of enjoyable visitations from their "kids". It also gave Sherol the opportunity to make a lot of new friends in both locations. Among them were several Amish people residing in the Finger Lakes area. She would often visit some of the ladies for a good chat. She also made many new friends in the Auburndale area including neighbors, caregivers and people she met when she volunteered at a food pantry run by her daughter Deborah.

Once she got her hubby though college and established in a good job with PP&L in Allentown, Pa, Sherol commenced her career of service to others. She became one of the first female EMT's in Pa and joined the Coopersburg Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Since she was available during weekdays, she responded to many calls and helped hundreds of people through difficult times. When she and Tracy moved from Coopersburg to her dream home in Slatedale (a hand hewed log and stone farmhouse built around 1750) she joined the Slatedale Ambulance Corp and later the Northern Valley Corp when three local corps merged to form the larger organization. As a result, she contributed 34 years of service to this vital work. Throughout this period, she also taught Red Cross first aid courses to many members of local fire companies However, this wasn't the only way Sherol served others. She loved books her whole life and she developed a hobby of taking bags of books to people who might be shut-in because of illness or age. She also had Tracy build her a Little Free Library box in the front yard, which was used by numerous local people, including one little girl who used to leave notes about books she would like to see added to the collection in the future.

These are only a few examples of Sherol's great goodness that was enjoyed by all who knew her. She really liked people and was always thinking of others first which certainly led to a happy and spoiled husband and kids. Oh, almost forgot-the most spoiled of all was her beloved pet Bichon dog, Jazzy. He passed a year ago, but he gave Sherol and the whole bunch of grand and great grandkids hours and hours of fun.

Her family and friends will miss her love and sense of humor. But, they all agree they were fortunate to be a part of her long life devoted to service to others. She certainly earned her rest in peace.

A public visitation will be held at Parthemore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, New Cumberland, on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 1 p.m. until a funeral service begins at 2 p.m.. Entombment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill.

Tracy, Brennan and Family,
Tami and I send our deepest sympathy for the loos of Your "Loved" One.
Our little Village of Slatedale, PA gained a dedicated, caring Sherol, after
she settled in to the community. Slatedale and the Northern Lehigh area was greatly blessed by her volunteer service with the Slatedale Ambulance Corps.

Respectfully,
Gregory A. Scbuck, EMT
