Sherri Peterson

Sherryl (Sherri) Lynn Peterson 77 of rural Gothenburg passed away at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, NE on May 1, 2025 after a five year battle with metastatic breast cancer and heart disease.
Sherri was born on May 5, 1947 to Marian L. (Rooker) Black and James N. Black.
Sherri attended school in Memphis, TN until sixth grade when the Bailey family moved to Gothenburg, attending grade school and graduating with the class of 1965. Sherri later received an associate of business degree from MPCC.
Sherri married Lewis Lehman in1966 to this marriage they had three children Trevor, Tiffany and Tyler. The marriage ended in divorce later.
Sherri worked several places but her favorite was Director of emergency management at Red Cross for several years. Her last employment was at Cabela's until her retirement.
Sherri married Jerry Peterson in 2016 and enjoyed 9 years of retirement on the farm.
Sherri was preceded in death by her parents James Black, Marian and Sherm Bailey. Grandparents Lloyd and Regina Rooker and Robert and Ellon Black and one grandson Seth Runge of Sidney two days after her death.
Sherri is survived by her husband Jerry, son Trevor (Heidi) Lehman, of Wallace, NE; daughter Tiffany (Kenny) Ogier of Wallace, NE; and son Tyler (Pam) Lehman of Holt, Florida. Grandchildren Blair Lehman of Sidney, NE; Blane and Booker Lehman of Wallace, NE; Shelby (Phil) Quackenbush of Hastings, NE; Nathan Ogier of Wallace, NE; Jacob (Jaden) Lehman, Joshua and James Lehman of Holt, Florida; one great granddaughter Violet Lehman of Holt, Florida; three sisters, Deb (Steve) Koch of Hershey, NE; Phila Young of Gothenburg, NE; and Karla Rasmussen of Omaha, NE.
Memorial service will be June 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM, at Tallin Church of rural Arnold with pastor Lee Wonch officiating.
