Palm Desert — Dr. Sherridan Pauline Dunn Miesch Miller, age 78, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2015, while at home. Born in County Cork, Ireland on November 25, 1936, she moved to the United States in 1957 where she attained several degrees; a nursing degree with licensure as a Registered Nurse, ultimately earning a Doctorate. In 1963, she began her nursing career in Commerce, Texas where she worked in emergency medicine. Later, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas where she began working in the capacity of Director of Nursing for several nursing homes in the DFW area. She worked tirelessly to ensure that all her patients had the best possible care. In 1981, she joined Medical Surgical Clinic in Fort Worth Texas as Medical Director, where she was responsible for many innovative changes to the industry. Dr. Miller was responsible for development of business and oversight of three separate clinical branches serving many industrial businesses in the area. Over the years, her expertise and reputation led her to be a sought after subject matter expert in the field of Industrial Medicine. She not only took pride in her business, but truly relished the friends she made during this time. An avid sailor, she was the founding member and Commodore of the first Hobie Cat Association racing fleet (Fleet 91) in North Texas. She spent every available weekend at the local lake where she would compete in races with her beloved 16' Hobie Cat nicknamed "The White Knight". She would travel the tristate area of Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas to participate in races. She met her husband, Raymond (Clark) Miller, through mutual friends and was married in 1983. They moved several times throughout their marriage; Fort Worth, TX, Eugene, OR, Hot Springs Village, AR and ultimately settling in Palm Desert, CA. Sherridan was preceded in death by her son, Jason Edward Miesch Phelan-Dunne, and sisters; Noreen and Vivienne. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Raymond (Clark) Miller; her son, Christopher Miller (Amy), Herndon, VA; stepdaughters, Stacie (Rob) Wilson , Western Springs, IL; Christine Spielvogel, Manhattan Beach, CA; Karin (Scott) Longhurst, Manhattan Beach CA; eleven grandchildren and countless friends.
