Sherrie Durrant Francis, age 79, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 15, 2024.

Born to Christie Sabey and Leroy Durrant on a winter's day in Provo, Utah, on February 28, 1944, Sherrie grew up surrounded by the warmth of family. As the youngest of eight siblings — Carma, Leroy, Gene, Judd, Dwayne, Vernita, and Colleen — Sherrie's early years were filled with laughter, ice skating adventures, and an enduring love for Elvis.

After she met Donald Francis on New Year’s Eve of 1972, they were married six months later on June 15th, 1973, in Lindon, Utah. Sherrie leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Scott (Joy), Troy (Christee), Blaine (Diane), Brodie (Wendee), 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and her sweet dog, Lily Pie.

Sherrie's infectious spirit made her the life of every gathering. With an eccentric style and vibrant personality, she sported funky patterns and different hair colors. Her vivacious presence embraced everyone around her, and she dedicated her life to making the people in her life feel loved, fighting for the things she believed in, having a whole lot of fun, and cherishing her roles as a fantastic mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor.

There will be a funeral service Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jordan Parkway Ward on 1510 W. Parliament, West Valley City, Utah.  There will be a viewing prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.   Sherrie will be interred at the Provo City Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
