Sherron Harder Obituary

Sherron Lou Schofield Harder, 83, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026, at her home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, surrounded by family. Born on April 25, 1942, in Green River, Wyoming, Sherron--"Tater," as her dad affectionately called her - was the fourth of five girls born to Rodney and Lula Schofield.

Raised on the sheep ranch, she could often be found at her dad's heels, rolling up her sleeves and diving into whatever task was at hand. It was there that her strong work ethic and resilient spirit were formed early in life. Her will was unmatched, and her determination carried her through every season of life with strength and grace.

She was raised in Manila, Utah, and graduated from Manila High School, where she met her first husband, Donald Robert Hedrick. To this union, three daughters were born: Debra Lynn, Vicki Ann, and Sonja Gwen Hedrick.

In 1981, she met and married Bryan Lee Harder in Craig, Colorado. Through this union, she gained four stepchildren: Bryan Jay, Brent Lee, Blake Edgar, and Erin Elizabeth Harder. After raising their children, Sherron and Bryan embraced the next chapter of life by working, traveling, and creating countless memories together across the United States.

She was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Debra Lynn; her parents, Rodney and Lula Schofield; her sisters, Kay Bullock, Marilyn Allen, and Carolyn George; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her devoted husband Bryan Harder - she passed just two days after celebrating their 45th wedding anniversary. She is also survived by sister Deanna Hayes, daughters Vicki Ann Hedrick and Sonja Gwen Brown; 4 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, stepsons Bryan Jay Harder, Brent Lee Harder, and Blake Edgar Harder; and stepdaughter, Erin Elizabeth Patrick. Her family was her greatest joy and her most treasured accomplishment.

Sherron believed it was important that everyone laugh and have fun. She had a gift for lifting spirits and bringing comfort, especially through her cooking - her chicken and noodles could fix any struggle or bump in the road. She loved crafts, particularly crochet and needlepoint, though she rarely followed a pattern exactly, preferring instead to make each creation uniquely her own - just as she lived her life. She loved being outdoors, tending to her yard, and she could play the accordion and guitar beautifully by ear.

Mom was a pillar of strength and poise right up to the day she passed. Her legacy of love, faith, resilience, creativity, and devotion to family will live on in all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held April 10, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Rock Point Cemetery in Vernal, Utah, next to her baby girl, Debra Lynn Hedrick.
