Sherry Carruthers

Sherry Kay Carruthers, 83, of Woodbury, Georgia peacefully passed away at home on Monday, January 5, 2026 with her family by her side. She leaves behind a lifetime of love and will be missed more than words can say.
She always had a love for words and books, and a quiet curiosity that made the world feel worth exploring. As a teen, Sherry's interests ranged from dove hunting by her uncle's side, water skiing with her parents, to figure roller skating. She will be remembered for the music she loved, the Corvette she drove with pride, the meals and desserts she made with her whole heart, and the trips that turned into lifelong memories with her children and grandchildren in tow. In later years, those trips became centered around beach getaways with her closest group of best friends filled with light, laughter and joy. While Sherry wasn't able to take all the trips she still planned, her family will carry her spirit with them in the years to come.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, OD and Zonelle Stone, as well as her sister, Martha Louise Daniel. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, John Carruthers; her daughter Tina Rossetti and son in law Tony Rossetti of Greenville, GA; her son Todd Carruthers of Texas; four grandchildren, Shae Rossetti, RaeQuinn Rossetti, Taylor Carruthers and Jillian Jensen; three great grandchildren and two loving nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in honor of Sherry Carruthers to Brightmoor Hospice, LLC in Griffin, GA.
