Sherry Lynn Clark, 61, of Cordova, Tennessee passed away on January 25, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Clark; her father, Robert Swift; and her sister, Saundra Swift.
Sherry's profession of faith was at age nine at Fairlawn Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. She was a true warrior for Christ and had a passion for children's ministries. She graduated from Briarcrest Baptist High School in 1980 and graduated Southwest Tennessee Community College in 2002. Sherry worked for Germantown Baptist Church since May of 1999 and was a faithful member. Sherry's GBC family loved her very much. She was the ministry assistant for the children and young families' ministry.
She loved to cook! She also loved Tanya Floyd's homemade eggnog, McAllister's sweet tea; La Hasenda in Collierville, Carrabba's Italian Restaurant, Perkins breakfast, and Chik Fil A. She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, collecting Precious Moments figurines, traveling, attending University of Memphis games, and watching cooking shows. She loved to sing and some of her favorite songs were I can only imagine by Mercy Me, Overcomer by Mandisa, Sunday Sermons by Anne Wilson, Thy Will by Hilary Scott, You Say by Lauren Daigle and Amazing Grace. Her two dogs Zoey and Bailey were her furbabies whom she loved dearly.
She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in April of 2014 and never gave up. She put up a fight until the very end. She also battled the NF1 disease, which is incurable. Even in her final days, she wanted to get back to work and was always worried about what needed to be done.
Sherry is survived by her son, Michael Clark; her mother, Marcia Swift; her brother, Bobby Swift (Wanda); sister, Marilyn Mayner (Mark Harris); niece Brittney Moore (David); nephews, Brandon Mayner and Matthew Swift; great-niece, Adtison Mayner; great-nephews, Carter Moore, Alex Swift, Corbin Mayner, and Cade Moore whom she loved very dearly.
Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday, February 3 at Germantown Baptist Church, 9450 Poplar Ave, Germantown, TN. Services will follow at 12:00pm. Interment will be at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd, Bartlett, TN.
