On Sunday, August 25th, 2024, Sherry lost her three-year battle with cancer. Sherry was a traveler and an adventurer and now her soul is on a new adventure. Wherever she was and whoever she was with, she made that her happy place as she would relate to and appreciate everyone she met. As a flight attendant, she made new friends in cities and countries worldwide.
Sherry grew up in Sunshine NC and lived in DC, Boston, Pavia Italy, Philadelphia, Chapel Hill, and Seoul South Korea. Sherry has also been an English teacher, a Realtor, an Auctioneer, a writer, an ESL teacher, and a certified nurse. However, she was most proud of being the mother of her two sons, Grafton(20) and Gill(19), helping and watching them grow while sharing her travel adventures. She was a loving wife, sister, daughter, aunt, cousin, great-aunt, and friend to many. She passed peacefully, at home, on her farm in Bostic NC, with her husband Jay and family by her side as she watched the other birds fly by her window.
A Visitation will be held from 6 pm until 8 pm Friday, August 30, 2024 at Washburn & Dorsey Funeral Home.
