Sherry Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 23, 2025.
My darling "Sherry Babe" passed away at 12:09 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, after a courageous six-year battle with cancer. We held her hands and prayed for her release, as she took her final breaths.

Her five vigilant children-Cory, Cameron, Mike, Melissa, and Marci-surrounded her for the days before her passing. My children-Melanie, Cammie, Heidi, Amanda, Justin, and Jeff-were also present in various ways. Sherry is survived by these 11 children and 39 grandchildren, along with her father, Don Hardman, and four brothers-Bryan, Doug, Barry, and Kelly.

She was Student Body Secretary her senior year (1981) at Pleasant Grove High. She was also part of the Viqueens Drill Team. She graduated with honors in academics and received a full-ride scholarship to Utah State University. She turned it down to get married and devote herself entirely to her role as a mother, one of her greatest joys.

Later, as a single mother, she put herself through school to become a teacher, all the while working nights at Utah Valley Hospital. She graduated from UVU in August of 2001, with her family as her biggest supporters and fans. She had always wanted to be a teacher. As a little girl, she played teacher with her dolls. She taught elementary school for 20+ years and loved it, and the children loved her back.

We met the same month of her graduation at a dance at Thanksgiving Point. I asked her to dance and asked for her phone number, to which she replied: "It's in the phone book." We dated for 18 months, got engaged on her birthday, and were married December 31, 2002.

We will have been married 23 years, this December. Blending families was a constant challenge. Sherry said, "I didn't think we would make it, but I'm sure glad we did!"

She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life. She loved the Mount Timpanogos Temple; though, she always called it the Mount Mahogany Temple. God blessed our home and family.

She had a permanently positive attitude and captivating smile. Her smile was one of her defining characteristics, one I adored. In a moment of clarity, the day before her passing and surrounded by loved ones, she said, "Who ever said dying wasn't fun?" while sipping on a Diet Coke.

She was so loving and always worrying about her children, me, and her dad. We will sorely miss her and hope her spirit can reside with us from time to time. God bless this sweet girl, beautiful mother and grandmother, and my "Sherry Babe."

P.S. Everyone Sherry loved she always told, "You are my favorite."

Goodbye for now, sweet darling wife and love.

I'll see you soon.

You are my favorite.

I love you,

Randy
