New Iberia – A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Sherry Horton Richie, 49, who passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Thursday, from 8:00 am until time of service.
A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
A longtime resident of New Iberia, Sherry was an amazing secretary and bookkeeper at her alma mater, Jeanerette Senior High. She loved spending time at home with her children and grandchildren. Always the life of the party, Sherry enjoyed having people over and cooking for everyone. An avid New Orleans Saints fan, she also liked listening to music, playing bingo, and especially going to the casino.
Survivors include her husband, Glyn Richie, Jr.; mother, Ann Landry Seaux (Wilton); father, Milton “Bud” Horton, Jr.; children, Joshua Richie (Jaclyn Landry Richie), Jenna Richie and Sienna Richie; grandchildren, Jett Allen Richie and Jude Austin Richie; sisters, Shannon Rabeaux (Timothy) and Sheryl Horton; nieces and nephews, Kayla Hohle (Dylan), Tyler Sohm (Deja Ruiz Sohm), Devin Sohm, and Sierra Rabeaux, ; great niece, Wren Katherine Sohm; several cousins, including Chantel Landry, who was like a sister to her, and Chantel’s children, Jared Landry, (Sherry’s godchild), and Brandon Landry; mother-in-law, Pam Jude.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Horton; father-in-law, Glyn Richie, Sr., and a sister-in-law, Amanda Eustace.
