Sherry Huff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dunnichay Funeral Home - Elwood on Jan. 12, 2026.
Sherry P. Huff, known affectionately as "Granny" by her family, peacefully passed away on January 10, 2026 just two weeks after celebrating her 84th birthday. Born on Christmas Eve, 1941, to Paul and Virginia Friend, Sherry was a long-time resident of Elwood, Indiana.

Sherry married the love of her life, Herbert Huff, on September 2, 1962, and he preceded her in death in 2018. Sherry was known for her straightforward nature, always ensuring those around her knew where they stood. She had an insatiable curiosity and a keen interest in the world around her, always keeping up with the happenings in her community and beyond. During her time at Elwood Health and Living she was fondly known as the social butterfly. In her free time, Sherry found joy in simple pleasures. She loved to laugh, finding delight in comedy movies, playing bingo and frequently enjoyed dining out.

Sherry is survived by her children, Angelena (James) Kelich, Jason Huff, and Craig Huff; her grandsons, Nicholas (Tiffany) Pearson , Joseph Pearson, and Bradley Pearson; and her great-granddaughters, Gracie Pearson, Maria Pearson, and Maddie McKinley. She is also survived by her Step Mother Joyce Friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Virginia Friend; her sister, Janet Sianta; her brother, Woodrow Friend; and her beloved husband, Herbert Huff.

The family will receive friends for a viewing at Dunnichay Funeral Home, 1113 South Anderson Street, Elwood, Indiana, 46036, on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 11:00 am EST. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 1:00 pm EST. Pastor Scott Blaylock will officiate.
