Sherry Lou Jacoby, age 78, of Huntsville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Moberly Regional Medical Center.

Sherry was born on November 17, 1947, in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Crist) Burckhartt. She was united in marriage to J.V. Jacoby on September 17, 1966, at the Huntsville United Methodist Church.

A graduate of Westran High School, Class of 1965, Sherry devoted her life to her family and home. She was a homemaker who found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She especially loved attending her kids' and grandkids' sporting events and cheering them on from the stands.

Sherry was a member of the Huntsville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children: Kristy Jacoby (Kristen) of Columbia, Missouri; Marci Gerling (Matt) of Pilot Grove, Missouri; Gabe Jacoby (Nicole) of Huntsville, Missouri; and Lindsey Sontheimer (Ben) of Cairo, Missouri; daughter-in-law Debbie Jacoby of Huntsville, Missouri; twelve grandchildren: Brittan Gibson (Brent), Zane Jacoby (Kate), Vivian Jacoby, Brinkley Jacoby, Lou Jacoby, Zach Simmons, Jordan Sontheimer, Brandon Sontheimer, Harper Sontheimer, Tilmon Sontheimer, and Declan Sontheimer; and three great-grandchildren, Ledger and Booker Gibson and Collins Jacoby.

She is also survived by her siblings: Troy Burckhartt of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Beverly Land (Lennis) of Huntsville, Missouri; sister-in-law Amy Burckhartt of Huntsville, Missouri; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Tracy Jacoby; and one brother, Dean Burckhartt.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bierman Event Center in downtown Moberly, Missouri. Burial will be held at Huntsville City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntsville United Methodist Church or to the Burckhartt Living Memorial Scholarship.
