Sherry Yvonne Allen Oldham, 85, of Lindale, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born October 18, 1939, in Grand Saline, Sherry lived a vibrant life defined by devotion to family, kindness to others, and a passion for connection. At just 17, she married her childhood sweetheart, Bobby Ray Allen, then 18. Skipping her junior year, they graduated high school together and moved to Dallas to begin their adventure as a family. There, they welcomed their three children: Michael Ray, Melisa Kay, and Kevin Mark. Bobby served as a dedicated Dallas firefighter, and the couple later returned to Grand Saline to raise their children in their beloved hometown. Alongside his firefighting career, Bobby started a Heating and AC business, and Sherry built lifelong friendships with the firefighter community, creating memories that lasted a lifetime. A devoted homemaker, Sherry also shared her talents as a secretary at the Chamber of Commerce and later as a DJ at KMOO Radio, where her warm personality shone through. After retirement, she and Bobby traveled, cherishing time with family and friends until his passing in 2006. In later years, Sherry moved to Hideaway, where she found love again with Robert Oldham. Together, they enjoyed music events, travel, and quality time with loved ones until his passing in 2021. Known for her compassionate heart, Sherry had a rare gift for listening, making everyone feel like family. Her large, loving family cherished every moment with her, and her absence will be deeply felt. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Dean and Eunice Opal (Jennings) Johnson; husbands, Bobby Ray Allen and Robert Oldham; and brother, Ronnie Edward Johnson. She is survived by her children, Michael Ray Allen (Deidre), Melisa Kay Terry (Joe Don), and Kevin Mark Allen (Melissa); brother, Jerry Lynn Johnson; grandchildren, Ashley Parmer, Courtney Hogue, Britney Childers, Caleb Middleton, Joe Bob Terry, Chelsi Smith, Ashley Wallace, Jon Tom Terry, Carson Middleton, Spencer Terry, Mason Terry, Jessica Colacino, Austin Allen, and Adison Overstreet; 33 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and countless other family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
