Sherry Ann(Powell) Roop

Sherry Ann (Powell) Roop, 57, of Akron, OH, passed away on October 20, 2012. She was born November 27, 1954 to father, Roger Elwood Powell and mother, the late Betty Lou Powell. She was a graduate of Green High School and worked for Fresenius Medical Care.

Preceded in death by her infant brother, James Roger Powell. She is survived by her loving husband, Marshall D. Roop; her father, Roger Elwood Powell, of New Martinsville, WV; her daughter, Julie Ann (Leonard) Duckworth, of Benwood, WV; grandchildren, Vincent, Lenae, Mason, Julia, and James; brothers, Russell (Trina) Powell, of New Martinsville, WV, Roger (Diane) Powell, of New Martinsville, WV, Adam (Dana) Powell, of Marrero, LA; sisters, Mary Athey, of Akron, (twin) Sheila (Bill) Forester, of Pittsburgh, PA; and many friends and relatives. Everyone she touched in her life, she was loved by.

The family would like to thank Summa Hospice for their sincere care during her illness. Calling hours will be Wednesday, 4-6 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, with a funeral service to follow at 6 p.m.
