Sherry Lou Yates

Sherry Yates, 77, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 20th, 2021. She started out as a stay at home mother and wife and ended up working for the board of education for 38 years. After retiring, Sherry enjoyed hanging out with all of her kids and grandkids, who loved her dearly. Sherry had lots of friends and family and she loved each and every one of them so much. She was a very good and loyal friend. Sherry's family meant everything to her and making memories and keeping traditions was also very important to her. Sherry loved to cook and was good at it. You never left her house hungry. Her homemade vegetable soup, chicken and dumplings, and dressing will be greatly missed.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lucy Stoess; siblings, Richard Stoess, Emmett Stoess, Albert Stoess, Norman Stoess, Barbra Kappesser, Fay Showalter, Shirley Meenche; granddaughter, Taylor Clark; daughter, Leslie Tipton and her husband, Charles Yates.
Sherry is survived by her sons, Kevin Yates (Wendy), Kelly Yates (Martha), Bill Yates and David Miller (Carol); daughters, Rebecca Probus (Dennis), Charlotte Clark and Jeannie Yates; grandchildren, Candice Tipton (Travis), Justin Probus (Shelley), Whitney Leathers (Colin), Sean Hall (Heather), Amber Yates, Autumn Yates, Cameron Yates, Sabra Ball (Phillip), Stephanie Clark, Ashley Yates, Andrew Yates (Alyssa), Stacey Colvin (Kris), Eric Sloan (Erica), Erin Gnuteks (Mike), Brad Cunningham (Kelsey); great grandchildren, Lydia, Layna and Lyndon Probus, Anniston, Denver and Colson Leather, Jayce Yates, Kylie and Conner Ball, Caleb Grayson, Carter and Julian Thompson, Emily Osborne (Landon) and Hunter Hall, Trever and Bailee Williams, Alora Grace Clark, Olivia Kelly, Spencer Kelly, Sawyer and Seeley Gnuteks, Rachel Ashby, Austin Colvin, Maleigha Colvin, Tre' Sloan, Kade Raisor, Kolton Raisor, Dabreon Sloan and Tori Sloan; great great grandchildren one of her happiest moments this year with the birth of her great great granddaughter, Tova Osborne on Sherry's Birthday, Ava Leigh Feroci, Braylinn Colvin, Peyton Colvin.
Funeral service will be 2:00PM, Thursday, December 30th, Stoess Funeral Home Crestwood with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 29th, 12-8 pm and Thursday beginning at 10 am and until time of service.
