John Stiglich Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stoess Funeral Home on Mar. 8, 2026.
John E. Stiglich, 59, died on March 5, 2026, surrounded by family. He lived authentically, loved the outdoors, laughed easily, and was deeply proud of the life he shared with his son.

Born June 26, 1966, in Berwyn, Illinois, he is survived by his beloved wife, Paula (Spencer) Stiglich; his son, Aidan Stiglich; and his sister, Joanne Stiglich. He was preceded in death by his father, Augustine "Sonny" Stiglich, and his mother, Jane Cazel (née Wolak).

He graduated from Bradley University and obtained a Master's degree in Marketing from Roosevelt University while building a career in the telecommunications industry.

John found joy in music, being outdoors, and spending time with the people closest to him. He was always ready for a hunting trip, especially when it meant time in the field with his son. Music was a constant in John's life. While he enjoyed many genres, classic rock was often the soundtrack to his days. He loved conversation, and it was rarely long before his unmistakable laugh followed. All who knew him will remember his quick wit and that laugh well. It was big, contagious, and impossible to miss. Beneath the humor was a man who lived with honesty, kindness, and deep loyalty to the people he cared for.

He will be remembered for the way he lived authentically, the laughter he brought to those around him, and the pride he carried in being Aidan's father.

A memorial service will be held in May 2026 in Inverness, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to Blood Cancer United.
