Sherwood Browning Obituary
Sherwood A. Woody Browning, 84, beloved husband of Nancy M. (Beaulieu) Browning, died on Sunday (September 14, 2025) at Bristol Hospital. Woody was born on March 18, 1941, in Fort Fairfield, ME and was a son of the late Sarah Brown. He was raised and attended school in Fort Fairfield, ME and lived in Marlborough, MA before settling in Bristol. His aunt, Ruby Browning and grandmother, Stella Browning, played a significant role in his childhood and helped with his upbringing. He worked at Stanley Works for many years before his retirement. He loved tinkering and was a jack of all trades. Woody also enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles and spending time at his family camp in Maine. In addition to his wife of 62 years, Woody is survived by two sons: Richard Browning and wife, Lori and Kevin Browning and wife, Nancy, all of Bristol; six grandchildren: Crystal Browning, Richard Browning and wife, Aimee, Amber, Jude, Kyla, and Avery Browning; two great grandchildren: Aubrey and Brayden; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons: Scott and Jeffrey Browning; and two sisters: Dorothy Sutton and Tina Farina. A graveside service will be held on Friday (September 19, 2025) at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, 522 Terryville Ave., Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Thursday between 5 and 7 p.m.. Please visit Sherwoods memorial website at www.FunkFuneralHome.com.
