IN LOVING MEMORY OF SHERYL ROBERTSON
With heavy hearts and great sadness we announce the passing of Sheryl K. Robertson, nee Melum, who left us unexpectedly on January 24, 2025, at Providence Hospital in Portland, Oregon. She was surrounded by many family members, who treasured her larger-than-life personality. Sheryl filled man peoples' lives with laughter and kindness, and always with a flai for the dramatic.
Sheryl was born to Arnold and Cecilia Melum on August 12, 1943, at Oregon City Hospital. She joined older siblings Gary, Gloria and Judy. Nine years later, she became a big sister to Arla, Kenny and Donny. She attended Molalla Union High School, graduating in 1961. Sheryl flourished academically an served in student government and was on the tennis team. She was recognized as "the most witty" and "biggest flirt".
Following high school graduation, Sheryl attended nursing school at Emanuel Hospital in Portland. Helping people and sharing her opinions and knowledge was always a strength. Her love of medicine led to her work of many years assisting with patient care at the Molalla Medical Clinic. Patients enjoyed her warm smiles and exuberant personality.
Sheryl had three beautiful girls with her former husband, Glen Robertson: Julie, Gayla and Dena. Dena, her youngest, proceeded her mother in death in August, 2022. Being from a family of 7 children, Sheryl was always surrounded by relatives. She had 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 21 nieces/ nephews, 36 great-nieces/nephews, 6 great- great -nieces/ nephews, and many cousins and extended family.
Sheryl spent 30 years with her partner, Bill Rose, supporting him in his grass seed business prior to his passing in 2021. She enjoyed entertaining business associates, and delighted in their many trips around the country and abroad, including Chile, France and Italy.
Sheryl reveled in a variety of hobbies and pastimes, and was skilled at many. Her family like to call her "Martha Stewart" due to her flair for decorating and entertaining Her house wa adorned for every holiday, and she shared her obsession about Christmas ornaments with her younger sister. She was always feeding friends and family, and her cooking skills were unparalleled. Sheryl excelled at "home cooking", often using fresh vegetables from her bountiful garden. She had a passion for gardening, and spent many hours caring for her beautiful rose bushes and other flowers She was a "fisherwoman" would compete with her brother to see who could catch the most bass in the back pond. This was often followed up by bloody mary's adorned with her homemade "dilly" beans. Sheryl's allegiance was to the Oregon State Beavers, and she attended many football games. Being a former tennis player, Sheryl also enjoyed watching professional tennis. She was an avid reader, and her latest book was often a topic of conversation.
Anyone who knew Sheryl enjoyed her outrageous sense of humor. As the life of the party, she would often entertain her guests with impeccable story-telling and engaging repartee. Sheryl was flashy and fancy in her mannerisms dress an demeanor. She never hesitated in letting anyone know her opinions. Her big heart and empathetic nature were evident to everyone who had the good fortune of knowing her.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff o Willamette Falls and Providence Hospitals, who provided such excellent care and comfort to Sheryl and her loved ones.
Viewing will be at Molalla Funeral Chapel from 8-11 am on Tuesday, February 4, followed by the 11:00 service and subsequent interment at Adams Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held at Arrowhead Golf Course on Saturday, February 15, at 3 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Sheryl's name. Although Sheryl is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in every act of kindness we put forth in her name. "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched?they must be felt with the heart."

Sheryl and I did floral deco for Foothills church together many moons ago.We would laugh so hard and have just the best time in that back room creating floral arrangements:) I also spent many times at her house cooking and enjoying a glass of wine and talking forever Beautiful memories
