Sheryl Winn Obituary
She was the beloved daughter of Dorothy Jean "Jean Jean" (Eakin) Davenport and Wilton "Slick" Davenport of Marietta, Oklahoma, and was preceded in death by her brother, Kneilan Davenport.
Sheryl was married 55 years to her devoted husband, William "Bill" Winn. Their enduring love was a source of strength, joy, and unwavering partnership. In the words of granddaughter, Natalie, Sheryl and Bill were lucky to have such dependable, doting and adoring love for each other and they made each other's world. The entire family looks to them as a testament to love and commitment.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Allison Winn, Patrick Winn, and Jason Winn (Mindy), and by her beloved grandchildren: Anna and Grace Hemingway, Nathan and Natalie Winn, and Samuel Winn, who brought her absolute joy and pride.
A dedicated educator, Sheryl taught for many years both in Dallas, TX and Atlanta, GA, touching countless young lives with patience, creativity, and compassion. She shared her talents generously, not only as a teacher, but also as a gifted potter. Her artistry and warmth left a lasting impression on her students, colleagues, and fellow artists. Sheryl's presence will be deeply missed by her friends, family and colleagues at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Trinity School in Atlanta, and La Petite Gallery in Bluffton.
She will be remembered always for her gentle heart, quiet strength, and generous spirit. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the students she inspired, and the art she created.
A memorial service will be held on October 11 at a time and location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sheryl's honor to the Church of the Cross food bank: Give » The Church of the Cross
