Shirley May Ambrozak (nee Neighoff), age 92, passed away on July 13, 2023 after a long struggle with Dementia. Shirley was the 13th child born on April 27, 1931 to the late Elizabeth (nee Kendell) and the late George Albert Neighoff. Shirley was born in a house on Stevens Avenue in Arbutus that her father built from the remains of a church that was torn down. She lived in that house most of her life and loved Arbutus so much that she called it “My Arbutus”. Shirley was a vivacious redhead who was full of life. She loved traveling, especially cruising with her late husband Donald. Shirley’s favorite spot was her vacation home in Ocean City, Maryland. She loved sharing it with her family and friends. Shirley was a devout Christian who was active in her church from helping with communion, to delivering flowers, to shut-ins, to being on the bowling team! Shirley learned to play the organ in her 60s and loved playing hymns and Christmas music. Her other loves were square dancing, her lifelong friends, and making sure everyone around her was happy. She had two daughters, the late Kandi Jean Brady and June Lee Ellen Green (nee Brady), with her first husband, Richard Lee Brady. She is survived by her daughter June Green (Rob Ermer) and stepson Douglas Ambrozak; grandchildren Jason C. Molidor (Elizabeth), Jessica K. Whittemore, Jenna E. Hall (Andrew) and great grandchildren Charlotte J. Whittemore and Holden A. Hall. Shirley is currently rejoicing in Heaven with her 12 siblings, her daughter Kandi, her husband of 33 years Donald A. Ambrozak, and her best friends.
