Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Shirley Eubanks Blackburn, age 89, of Louisville, who died Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, at her home.

Services to celebrate her life will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 27, 2025, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Melchior officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Louisville City Cemetery.

A native of Louisville, Mrs. Blackburn was a daughter of the late Benny Eubanks & Nina Watkins Eubanks. She retired from Fort Gordon where she was a court reporter and records manager. Mrs. Blackburn assisted with the music ministry for 20 years and with the youth/children's choirs at Louisville First Baptist Church where she was a long-time devoted and faithful member. She also contributed diligently with Bible study classes at the church.

Mrs. Blackburn was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William Lawrence "Blackie" Blackburn, a daughter, Sharon Lee Pirozzi, and is survived by her son, William Lawrence "Larry" Blackburn, Jr., of Louisville.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday, April 27, following the service.

For those desiring to make a donation, the family suggests memorials be made in her name to the Louisville First Baptist Church.
