Shirley Butcher, born on Monday, November 26, 1934, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia. She is remembered as a remarkable woman whose heart and contributions touched many lives.

Shirley's professional journey was marked by her dedication and hard work. Over the course of her career, she worked as an administrative assistant at the Nevada Nuclear Test Site and later served as a personal assistant to the esteemed musician Roy Clark in Tulsa. Her career culminated in her role as an administrative assistant at NASA in Huntsville, where she was awarded the Silver Snoopy Award, a testament to her outstanding service and commitment to excellence prior to her retirement.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Shirley was a devoted wife and loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She worked alongside her husband, Harrison "HB" Butcher, to build four homes over the years, pouring love and effort into each project and taking immense pride in what they created together. She cherished time with her family, especially traveling, laughing, and gathering around the table to play games - most of all Aggravation, which always brought out her competitive spirit and joy.

Shirley's kindness and warmth touched everyone she met. She possessed a sharp wit and a generous heart, always ready with a clever comeback and a listening ear. Her ability to make people feel seen and cared for was one of her most enduring qualities. Those who knew her will remember her strength, grace, and humor, which were evident throughout her life.

She graduated from Camden High School and carried with her a deep appreciation for education and learning. In her later years, she continued to be surrounded by her loved ones. Shirley leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Kneller; son-in-law, Douglas Myers; granddaughter, Shauna Ratliff and her husband Barrett Ratliff; grandson, Michael Kneller and his wife Lizzy Kneller; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Connor, and Noah. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Thomas, and her brother, George Moore.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Butcher; son, Paul Hughes; mother, Myrtle Moore; father, Garland Moore; and sisters, Betty Cunningham and Martha Moore.

A funeral service in her honor will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM at CedarVale Funeral Home, located at 200 Minorca Road, Hot Springs Village, Arkansas 71909.
