Kernersville – Shirley Dull Campbell, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born on May 10, 1936, in Forsyth County to Clarence and Mary Hubbard Dull. Shirley was a lifelong member of Kernersville Wesleyan Church where she was a faithful member of the choir and served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and she loved to shop. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Billy Campbell; two brothers; and two sisters.
She is survived by one son, Kevin Campbell (wife, Kristie); one daughter, Mitzi C. Rogers (husband, Robby); five granddaughters, Danielle Roach (husband, Logan), Haley Rogers, Naomi Brown (husband, Kyle), Maggie Pegg (husband, Tory), and Emma Campbell (Adam); two great grandchildren, Evangeline Roach and Rhys Roach and one more on the way; one sister Doris Easter; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Shirley will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 12, 2024, at Kernersville Wesleyan Church with Rev. Don Martin and Rev. Travis Shannon officiating. Burial will follow the service at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
The Campbell family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Cardiac ICU staff at Forsyth Medical Center as well as the staff at Arbor Ridge.
