Shirley (Shirshee) J. Campbell, aged 90, of Celina, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born on October 20, 1934, in Texas, to Oscar Lee James Sr. and Elizabeth Ann (Coats) James. A devoted Christian and a woman of deep faith, Shirley lived her life with grace, compassion, and a profound love for others. She cherished her time spent in Bible study and was a shining example of Christian kindness and hospitality to all who knew her.

On August 26, 1955, Shirley married the love of her life, Harold Lee Campbell, in Sherman, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life rooted in love, faith, and family. Shirley was the heart of her home and a steadfast source of strength, comfort, and joy to her husband, children, and grandchildren.

A lifelong learner and a woman of many interests, Shirley had a passion for reading, playing bridge, watching classic films, and enjoying the arts-especially the theater. She brought her curiosity and joy for life into everything she did and leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and love.

She is survived by her devoted children: son Jim Campbell and wife Michelle of Celina, TX; daughter Catherine Merritt and husband Lewis of Dallas, TX. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Cayce Campbell, Cameron Campbell, Allyson Campbell, Chad Merritt, Ashley Bridges and husband Blake, and Trey Merritt and wife Jessica. Her great-grandson, Hayes Merritt, brought her immense pride and joy. She is also survived by her nephews Oscar James, Brad James, and Ray James.

Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Lee Campbell; her brother, Oscar Lee James Jr.; and her parents, Oscar Lee James Sr. and Elizabeth Ann James.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Shirley's life during a visitation on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main St, Frisco, TX 75033. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 10 AM at the same location. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090.

Shirley's faith, kindness, and love for her family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
