Joe Wayne Carter, age 87, passed away on October 20, 2025, in Frisco, Texas. He was born on April 16, 1938, in Rising Star, Texas to Trunnion Inetha (Somerford) and Malcom Orman "M. O." Carter.
Joe is survived by his children, Cynthia Ward and her husband, Dennis, Tim Carter and his wife, Anne, Elizabeth R. Brown and her husband, Larry, Colin Carter, Tyson Carter and his wife, Gabby; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, M.O. and Inetha Carter; his sisters, Laverne Perkins and Geneva Bunch.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 E. Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75033, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at Turrentine-Jackosn-Morrow Funeral Chapel on Monday, October 27, 2025, beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park, 7800 Sanctuary Drive, Frisco, Texas 75033.
