Shirley Rose Chase, 95, of West Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday September 19, 2025. She was born on December 4, 1929, to Milton B. Peterman and Ann Marie (née Neimans).

Shirley grew up in Maywood, IL and attended Proviso High School. Shirley met her future husband, Chester A. Chase, at a High School football game. The two were married on September 23 rd. 1950 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Maywood IL. Together they moved to Winfield, IL in 1962.

Her husband Chester worked for Commonwealth Edison in Maywood IL, while Shirley worked as a home maker and mother and later as a clerk and order taker for Towne Gift in Wheaton, Sears catalog store in Winfield and West Chicago and finally at the Winfield Flower Shoppe.

Shirley was a long-time member of the Winfield Community United Methodist Church, where she participated in a variety of ways.

Shirley leaves behind; her loving sons, Gary (Valerie) and Bob (Jean) Chase; her five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. As well as many close friends and extended family members.

Shirley was preceded in passing by her parents, her husband of 69 years Chester A. Chase.

The family will be holding a private burial at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
