Shirley Chleboun of Arvada Colorado passed away February 1st, 2025 at the age of 89. Shirley was born April 14, 1935 to Blahous and Marie (Kevtensky) Chleboun. Shirley grew up in Stanton, Nebraska the youngest of five siblings. While she cherished her rural Nebraska roots, Shirley was a long-time Denver resident, having moved to the area in 1960 to pursue a career with General Motors, as well as to enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery, weather, and recreational activities.
Shirley loved Colorado and the Denver area. In her younger days, she was an avid skier and enjoyed traveling. During retirement, Shirley loved reading, cultural events, listening to classical music, and the many social events at her retirement home – especially bingo nights.
Shirley was a loving sister, aunt and friend, whose warm smile and affectionate laugh brought much joy and happiness to those in her life. She is survived by sister Mary Jean Amick (Omaha) and large group of nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Don Chleboun (Clarkson, NE), Robert Chleboun (San Jose, CA), and sister Audrey Eisenach (Fort Wayne, IN)
Shirley’s ashes will be interred at Fairmount Cemetery, Denver, Co.
