Shirley Irene Clinedinst Jenkins, 87, of Mt. Jackson passed away peacefully July 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. A funeral service will be held on Sunday July 20, 2025, at 3:00 pm at Woods Chapel Church. Burial will follow at St. Luke Cemetery. Pastor Glen Turner will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Valley Funeral Service, Edinburg.
Shirley was born February 21, 1938, to the late Isaac and Francis Hottinger Clinedinst.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Carl Jenkins Sr.; two sons, Lester Isaac (Butch) and Richard Carl Jenkins Jr.; daughter, Donna Louise; grandson, Nicholas Walter; sister, Anna Rush; two brothers, Isacc (Doodle) Clinedinst and Charles (Frankie) Clinedinst.
Surviving are two brothers, Larry Clinedinst and William (Billy) Clinedinst; six sons, Donald Jenkins, Dwight Jenkins, Jerry Jenkins and wife, Tammy, William Jenkins, Justin Jenkins, Bruce Jenkins; three daughters, Joyce Kelley and husband, Doug, Caroline Jenkins, Amy Funkhouser; thirty-three Grandchildren; twenty-nine Great-Grandchildren; six Great- Great Grandchildren; and her Lifelong best friend, Kitty Hines.
Shirley devoted her life to her family and caring for all the children in her community. She was a loving foster mom to numerous children. Shirley loved with her whole heart.
