Shirley Adeline Colwell, age 86 of Rocky Top, Tennessee went to be with the Lord September 17, 2025, in Powell, Tennessee. Shirley was born in Xenia, Ohio on April 25, 1939, to Robert and Lucille Shaw.
Shirley was a loving mother, and grandmother who enjoyed butterflies, flowers, and crocheting. She was a very hard worker all her life which was evident in how tidy she kept her house which was a trait passed down form her mother. Shirley was often found gardening and working in her in yard while she was able. Shirley always thanked God daily for another day.
Shirley will rejoice at Heaven’s Gate with her late husband Russell Colwell; son Tim Bryant; her parents Robert and Lucille Shaw; brothers Robert and Michael Shaw; sister Barbara Elswick.
While Shirley celebrates with the Lord, her memory will be carried on by her children, son's William Miller and wife Linda, Mark Bryant and wife Machelle and Felix Colwell; daughter's Sondra Ray and husband Rick, Karen Bullock and husband Mike; brother Gary Shaw and wife Beverly; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
To honor Shirley’s life a visitation will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm in the chapel at Jones Mortuary in Clinton, Tennessee. Followed by a graveside service at 12:30pm at Glen Foust Cemetery in Rocky Top, Tennessee officiated by Jimmy Ault.
