Published by Legacy on Sep. 20, 2025.
Shirley Rose Davidson, 88, entered eternal rest on September 2, 2025. Born April 14, 1937, in Mounds City, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Herman Newton Merideth, Laura Mae Bailey.

On May 9, 1969, Shirley married her beloved husband, Willie Joe Davidson, with whom she shared more than 50 years of marriage before his passing on May 2, 2020. Their marriage was a reflection of devotion, honor, and faith.

Shirley devoted her life to her family. She raised her children with faith and wisdom, creating a legacy that will continue for generations. She is survived by her children: Debbie Merideth, Beth Woerner, Gary Davidson & wife Carrie, Delois Ledbetter & husband Wayne, Charles Fahnders, Sandra Davidson, Janice "Sissy" Patton & husband Pastor Mike Patton, Terry "Bubby" Davidson & wife Cherri, Donny Davidson & wife Joyce.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Sue McElhaney and son Michael Dewayne Fahnders. Her love endures through 33 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She is also reunited in heaven with her parents, siblings, and grandchildren Jessica Davidson, Jared Shearer, Cory Davidson, Noah Johns, Christina R. Summerfield, and Robert Brian Sorensen.

Shirley was a woman of many joys and accomplishments. She loved playing the card game "Hand and Foot," and in 1965, she was awarded Top Saleswoman for Bee Line Clothing, winning a Mustang Convertible. She became well known in her community as the friendly "Avon Lady."

In November 2018, Shirley moved from East Prairie, Missouri to Ocala, FL, and became a devoted member of Berean Baptist Church, where her daughter Janice and son-in-law Pastor Mike Patton serve in ministry.

Shirley lived with grace, strength, and dignity, a true reflection of her faith in Christ. Her memory will forever be a blessing to her family, her church, and all who loved her.
