Shirley V. Davis, 83, of New Castle, and formerly of Muncie, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Morristown Manor following an extended illness. She was born March 13, 1941, in Morehead, KY, a daughter of the late Allie and Eliza (Loveless) Plank.
Shirley was a long-time, dedicated member of The Sanctuary of New Castle, where she sang in the choir and served wherever she was needed. She was previously a member of Parkview Apostolic Church in Muncie where she taught Sunday School for many years, sang in the choir and was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Lucinda "Cindi" (Larry) Kiner of Shirley, Gordon S. (Jeanette) Davis of Haydon, ID, Jennifer (Alvin) Baker of Greenfield, and Jalana Davis of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Krysta (Joseph) Shields of Muncie, Emilie (Adam) McMillan of Greenfield, Allan (India) Davis of Post Falls, ID, Jeanelle Davis of Post Falls, ID, Tyler (Brianna) Baker, Aleysha Baker, and Bethany Baker, all of Greenfield; great grandchildren, Aryanna Kiner, Grace McMillan, Judah McMillan, Ellainna Shields, Violet McMillan, Ivy McMillan, Forrest Baker, and a great granddaughter due in December; a brother, Curt (Kay) Plank of Lenoir City, TN; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pat N. Davis; six sisters, Ona Bennett, Georgia Carter, Arvetta Dean, Joyce Riddle, Phyllis Rodgers, and Vada Estep; six brothers, Vernon, Harold, Ralph, Marvin, Darrell, and Wendell Plank.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at The Sanctuary of New Castle, officiated by Pastor Jeff Jaco. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday, July 29, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Memorial contributions may be given to The Sanctuary, 2208 Broad St., New Castle, IN, 47362.
