Shirley Lee DiCapo

Shirley Lee DiCapo, age 77, of Cleveland, MO, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 2, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 606 S Elm St. Louisburg, KS 66053. Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. Private family burial will be held at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.
She was born on Tuesday, October 9, 1945, in Kansas City, KS. Shirley was the youngest of three children to George and Susan (McClure) Grunden. She attended Bishop Lillis High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1965.
Shirley married George DiCapo on Saturday, April 10, 1971, at the courthouse in Kansas City, MO. Together they had one child: Stephen DiCapo, along with her child from a previous marriage, Albert Douglas Buckman III (Doug). She had many different jobs in her lifetime dedicating the past twenty-five years as the manager at Smokes 4 Less in Cleveland where she was loved by all. Shirley knew no strangers and made everyone feel like they were part of her family. She was always surrounded by smiles and laughter, no matter the circumstances.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, George and Susan Grunden, two siblings: Donald Grunden and Patricia Clark, nephew: David Harrenstien, and infant daughter: Susan Buckman.
She is survived by her husband George DiCapo, two sons: Stephen and wife, Denise DiCapo, and Albert Douglas Buckman III, four grandchildren: Stephen Buckman, Ashley and husband, Alex Denney, Nicholas DiCapo, and Brianna DiCapo, and sister-in-law: Marilyn Harrenstien.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made payable to National Multiple Sclerosis Society or to Midwest Hemophilia Association, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary PO Box 669 Louisburg, KS 66053.
