SHELBY: Shirley Ann Capps Drewery, 88, died Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Garwood and Lottie Mooney Capps. Shirley owned and operated Drewery's Restaurant. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and she enjoyed hummingbirds and collecting frogs. She also enjoyed listening to Elvis and gospel music on Saturdays. You could often find her sitting on her front porch watching to world go by. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Drewery; son, Keith Parris; brothers, Bobby and Wayne Capps; and daughter, Tammy Parris. She is survived by her sister, Dot Hardin of Cornelius; grandchildren, Amanda Moore of Shelby and Derrick Moore and wife Kelly of Mooresboro; grandchildren, Tyler Moore and wife Carolyn, Caitlin Orton and husband Daniel, Adien Ernest and wife Amanda, Brooke Bailes and husband A.J. and Bradley Moore and wife Brooklyn; ten great grandchildren; special friends, Joe Wray and Susan Wright; and her K-9 companions, Mutt and Millie. The family will receive friends 3:00-5:00 P.M. Saturday, October 5, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and Aquamation Center. www.claybarnette.com
