Shirley Erfman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 28, 2024.
Shirley Ann Erfman (84) passed away on February 8, 2024 in Thornton, Colorado after a journey with ovarian cancer. Shirley was born on November 19, 1939 to John Krueger and Martha (Fuehuer) Krueger in Jerald County near Wessington Springs, South Dakota. She had seven sisters and four brothers. Shirley graduated from high school in 1956, and later earned an associate's degree in business science. Shirley married William Erfman on April 19, 1958 in a ceremony held at Zion Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. The couple later had three sons: Larry, Jeffrey, and Ben. Larry married Lisa Cronberg, and Ben married Angela Meisenheimer.
Shirley worked for Sun Honda Enterprises for twenty-five years and for ten years was the owner of Water Sports Marine Service. She was a member of Wellcraft Boat Dealer and also of Sports Riders Association of Colorado (SRAC) Promoter of Colorado. For seven years in a row, Shirley was recognized as SRAC Promoter of the Year. She retired in 2021. She enjoyed gardening, dining out at restaurants (especially those with outdoor seating), visiting family and friends, and collecting sand and seashells from different beaches. Watching Shirley do her favorite thing in Mexico-sitting happily on the beach to watch the sunrises and sunsets-is a wonderful memory.
Shirley is predeceased by Jeffrey Erfman (son), Marcell Hehn (sister), Robert Krueger (brother), Raymond Krueger (brother), Donald Krueger (brother), Leland Krueger (brother), Esther St. John (sister), Ruth Krueger (sister), Betty Anderson (sister), Edna Sayers (sister), and Jeanette Kvigne (sister). She is survived by Dorothy Crog (sister).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Humane Society of Colorado are welcome.
